Seeing as how the Forum seems a little dull lately and the VTec GDR thing has been beaten to death :deadhorse: was thinking it time to kick off an aesthetics' debate between the Gens, the opinions as expressed below are purely my own based on zero artistic qualifications.

When the Gen 1 first came out thought WOW it was the best looking motorcycle of its time, looking at it now while it has weathered time well the forks are spindly, the stick out blinkers unattractive and the front wheel too small.

The Gen 3 was a nice looking bike when launched especially when viewed front on but think the tank appears too small and looks clumsily perched on top of the wrap around seat.

The Gen 4 is the prettiest design side on, with a attractive combination of integrated blinkers flowing into the Testarossa and Naca vents, well done but I don't like the narrowness of the front fairing and the Headlight split and shape reminds me of the old Doctor Who's Ice warrior helmets.

The Gen 5 which I currently own I prefer is " angry looking " Headlights to any VFR previous and when viewed from the rear like its Integrated tail lens but in all honesty think the sides are too rounded and slabby.

The Gen 6 I think the best looking VFR when viewed angled front / left or Front / Right which looks very sharply ( sharkly ) aggressive, the direct rear looks rubbish with standard Honda Cans but the Undertail exhaust look is lifted greatly with the addition of Staintunes or Lasers and shows off the right side rear wheel nicely .

Based on folks own personal and even biased opinions which do you think is the best looking of the VFR Generations and what design detail they most like ? :cheer2: and what Generations design detail do they least like ? :puke:

There has been a previous thread encompassing all the Gens meant only to start a debate based on each of the Gens aesthetic design highlights. H'mmm must have missed it.

OK you win, was trying to stimulate a bit of controversial fun based on each Gen's design merits while the Forum was slow, appologies to those upset....

I like the lights on the 5th gen, but the RWB paint has gotten me more comments/ looks than any other bike I've owned.

Let the beaters beat. They are learning how to use the smilies as well as you and I do John.... :)

On review think a mistake was made with the Threads Title in asking which is best when really was after what people liked about each Gen's looks. :peace:

Cheers nozzle for not taking the Thread seriously and fotomoto for understanding there was a bit of light :fish2:ing for fun.

For the record there was a genuine interest in what the VFR community thought of key design highlights and an opportunity for Folks to view the VFRWORLD's well laid out Galleries when comparing the various Gen's.

Yes, my list was on looks only. It would be different if comparing the bike overall. I use to sell bikes so I know how important "looks" are to a buyer. They are important to me too.

Obviously, I'm a little biased to the 5th Gen so it gets my vote.

I will always have a place in my heart for the 3rd Gen. That was the 1st VFR I ever saw up close. In 1991, I was in USAF Tech School & I took the MSF class just for fun. They supplied the bikes free of charge so I saw no reason to not take the class. The coach had a Red with White wheels VFR with a slip on pipe. This bike made my jaw drop. Watching & hearing that VFR zinging around the MSF course was a life changing moment for me. I vowed then & there to own a VFR that day. Now that I have one, I really can't see me getting rid of it. I would turn down anything less than $10000 for my bike. I would take $10000 since I could buy another 5th Gen & a 3rd Gen to go with it.

    KC-10 FE out...
