The guy I bought my VFR from "threw in" a couple of G Max helmets. One is a standard full face, the other is a flip front type.

They may be better than riding without a helmet.

Do you like them? Are they cool? Are they trash? Did you just go and buy a $500 helmet and place those on the shelf? Are they only good as presents to your worst enemy?

I've been wearing Arai Quantum hats for over 10 years, they fit my melon, and IMO they offer great protection. I have tested one under duress.

My head deserves the best protection I can get within my budget. G Max helmets aren't even a consideration.

    YMMV

^^^^ Ditto on what he said^^^^ Its bad enough im running a Bell at the moment but soon will be replacing it for daily riding with a HJC with a tinted screen.... Really helmets are one of those things you get what you paid for..in the long run it comes down to how much you think your head is worth...Once my budget allows for it im looking at either a Icon or simular price range helmet because i would rather have the best i can afford protecting my head then cheaping out.

I guess cheap helmets are not that great but if its DOT approved it means it will protect the ol' nugget. However, as a status symble it may be over priced. In Colorado we are lucky enough to not require helmets. But safer people get them . Natural selection will get the rest. But since this helmet is DOT approved it will get me down the road safely until I get a better one that is nicer too.

But do you think this one is ugly? Do you guys like the modular helmets?

I think it will be fine. Motorcyclist did a huge helmet test a while back and one of the top rated helmet was a $50.00 ZR1 that you can get from JCWhitney. As long as the DOT approves it, then it meets their standards. As for the modulars, I just purchased a new Shoei multitec that I haven't ridden with yet, but I've been wanting one for a while now. As for yours, I think its a nice looking helmet and as long as it fits good, you'll prolly be happy with it.

I guess I can get by with this one for a while. I hit a wall with cash recently and I guess saving up to get one a better one. But I think that I should have asked before I bought. Thanks for everyones help.

All this trouble is for nothing. I bid on the item, I paid for it, I waited for it, it never came, I sent an email regarding my helmet, they relisted it and sold it to someone else. I got a refund but I am really mad because I am without a helmet . I am wondering what kind of feedback I should leave for them. This should qualify for a negative feedback, if I have ever seen a situation that deserves one.
