I've had a pair of these TCX Synergy WR Touring boots for the past month:

Overall, I like those boots and believe it or not I prefer those compared to the more expensive TCX Air Tech boots. See review for comparison: http://vfrworld.com/forums/apparel-reviews/13363-tcx-airtech-touring-boots.html

What I like about them is that there is some padding to provide some comfort when walking around. With the other AirTech boots they barely had any padding and it would chafe my heel after a while of walking around.

Plus with the solid leather they keep my feet a little warmer than the AirTechs.

Only downsides I see are minor in that they don't quite look as cool as the AirTechs and I don't like how the zipper is on the outer edge of the boot. It makes it a little annoying to reach more to unzip and zip.

They have a lot of hard plastic protection but they still are flexible enough for walking around. It's basically a race boot for the every day world.

For the price they offer a pretty solid boot you won't be disappointed with them!

Seeing how these are the second pair of TCX boots you've had, how would you say their sizing runs?

    True to size?
    Smaller than normal?
    Larger than normal?
    Wide?
    Narrow?

    I normally wear US11 since I use really thick socks. US11 = EURO45.

Hmm, all I can say for definite is that my US shoe size is 11 1/2 and for the TCX boots EURO44 fits perfectly. Since you're saying you wear size 11 then possibly EURO43 will fit you well. As for the width, I would say it's a normal width bordering on just a bit wide, they're not clown shoe wide I can tell you that.

Here is a more objective listing: http://www.newenough.com/info_pages/sizing_chart_tcx.html

One thing that doesn't make sense about that chart is I should be wearing at least 45 size but 44 fits me perfectly. They tend to run one size too large. I guess that's one of the advantages of going to store compared to online.

    Hope that helps!

I went moto-goody shopping today. Unfortunately, I returned with NOTHING. Of the 5 dealers I went to, not a single one had anything I would buy in stock. Most NJ dealers only stock the extremely low-end stuff & say they will order anything you want. That doesn't help when you want to try something on before buying.

Anyway, I tried on some TCX boots. The quality of all the boots I tried on were top notch, easily the equal of SIDI.

The touring boots, Infinity, Synergy & Airtech fit WAAAAY larger than true size. I normally wear a 44 bordering on 45. The 44's were much too big & the 43's were still slightly too large. Nothing a nice thick pair of socks & a new insole wouldn't fix.

The race boots, Competizioni & Peformance SS fit pretty much true to size. I was not able to wear a 43 but a 44 fits snug like a race boot should.

Both the touring & race boots are wider than SIDI so my next pair of boots are going to be Oxtar/TCX.
