I decided to install my new head bearings this afternoon. Not a bad job but time consuming (about three hours with some interruptions) and I had to remove more than I expected. The interesting thing was the test ride after! It felt great with much more feedback from the front end and no strange noises when stopping. It was clicking before. It also has much less vibration in the bars now which is a real bonus. I highly recomend it to anyone. The OEM bearings had basically no grease on them and were 8 years old so I'm not suprised that they were toast. If you don't want to change yours I would suggest that you at least get in there and put some grease on them. My 91VFR was the same with little or no grease from the factory. I got the kit off e-bay for about $35. It was made by AllBalls Racing and came with both bearings and the dust seals.
