I am considering a tank/tail bag combo for my 03 Viffer. I would appreciate any and all appraisals/advice from the gurus.

    Good Day

Here is how the Cortech looks on my RWB. It is mounted on a rack, but will also strap to the back of bike.

I have the Cortech bags on my bike and a Givi magnetic tank bag which i think is the best buy for the money.

Nelson-Rigg ... Absolutely first-class gear from a company that will stand behind everything they sell.

I have the SSC-160 tail bag and CL-300 tank bag. But, I must admit I haven't used my Nelson-Rigg tailbag on my VFR yet, it's on my V-Strom. I have Givi cases for the VFR.

I also have both the large and small Cortech tail bags as well as the Cortech sport saddlebags. I like the small tail bag and the saddle bags, but I hate the large tail bag. Again, though, I haven't used them on my VFR yet.

I go a few ways depending on what kind of ride. Long day trips just my Cortech Tail bag & Rapid Transit 1.9 tank bag which is designed for my IPod and hydro pack.

For overnight trips I'm with Mello on this one. I attach my rack for my Venture pack system. Takes about 20 minutes to install. On my 86, the rack is not very stylish like it is for the newer generations.

I really like my Gears Tank/tail bag it was inexpensive ($75.00) and fastens with a safety strap under the seat along with two bungies that cross and fit the tiedowns perfictly, like it was made for a 5th gen Vffr.! Plus it zips off the base eaisly and converts to a back pack or attaches to a included tank bag mount that never gave any problems on my last trip. It also has a map pocket. We got rained on several times and never got wet inside, but it does include a rain cover that stores in its own pocket. Check it out on Dennis Kirk.

Ride every chance you can, Lighter
