is there a rod or something that is used to keep the tank on a 2014 upright while you service the air filter?

like a car hood? that would be nice. You supply your own. I use a medium sized socket extension. Or run to ace and grab a cheap dowel rod, fashion to what you need.

I guess you could also run a strap from the front of the tank to the back of the bike.

The manual shows the large spanner wrench and the extension. It works, but I'd feel safer making my ow dedicated support.

^ Ok Norca, spill the beans on that air cleaner please ;) Back on the subject, I just, like mentioned, cut and fitted a wood dowel. Just something about metal contact I didn't care for, that and the way the manual has it by using the spanner combo seemed sketchy, using what I made gave me another 6" for more access ability
