tail light and back resovior on 85 vf700

    does anyone know what the inner resevior behind the inner fender is for? it looks like the lines are going into the trans. And do you know where I can get one,,,also my taillight is not coming on.the brake light works but no driving taillight. gonna trace the wires and see if it a short. Any help would be great...thanks guys

    I'm guessing you mean the Crankcase breather resevoir (my term). IIRC, it should have 3 tubes. 1 from the the Airbox, 1 from the Crankcase vent on the back of the engine, and a 3rd on the bottom that connects to a drain tube with a plug on the end.

    Replace the tailight bulb - test
    Then check socket - test
    Work your way back testing each component as you go.

    I think thats the box,,,,I've got a huge hole in the back of it..just gonna tape it up for now until I find one..you got a pic of your vf700

    Here's a pic of the bike when the PO had just painted it after a frame up rebuild. [​IMG]

    Since then, I've had to redo just about everything he did - including re-painting the mufflers and both headgaskets.
