What's up guys. Still vifferless here but I am waiting for that right bike to show up.

I synced the carbs on my 78 CB750 today and was just curious how syncing the carbs of a VFR is? Anyone have experience with both bikes? I wouldn't mind having a nice carbed 750 so this is why I am asking.

With my homemade manometer, it is so incredibly touchy adjusting the slide height but I have it nailed down now. It is that touchy that even once you get all 4 carbs pulling just about the same amount of vacuum, when you tighten up the lock nut, your bar would raise just about a foot! I didn't get them perfectly even but they are within an inch of each other. I actually had to lower each slide (except for number two which if fixed) and then tighten the lock nut, it would hop up to just about where it was before. I don't think they can be perfectly even because lowering/raising the idle from where i like it would show the carbs as unbalanced. But the important part is they looked almost the same when giving the throttle a bit of a twist. I no longer hear a faint pinging at low engine RPM's with moderate load and have appeared to cure a very slight hesitation/hiccup that happened in very low speed, parking lot turns.

And the idle... unbeatable! The throttle response... like a new bike!

Not running in the picture but you get the idea.

I synched the throttle bodies on my 07 VFR, simple as can be. 45 minutes and done.
I know....that doesn't answer your question, but I thought I would share the experience.

I have done it on my '94 and '96. Not a big deal if yo have a 90 deg scredriver. I used the motion pro one that cost me $22.

Both bikes were pretty close before adjustment. I think the V4 stays in sync for long time.
