Synchronizer slot is stripped out on carb.any suggestions?

    Was having an awful time getting my bike to idle correctly and finally figured out that 1 of the sync screws was not holding..
    Anyone have any suggestions other than using a tap set??I have tried a brand new screw with the same results,it will hold
    for a brief second is all...Thanks in advance for the help...
