i rode up to pa to take my pyrotechnic display operator course this weekend. it was about 450 miles round trip. unfortunately, mostly due to the weather, it was all super slab, and some semi-super slab (two lane 55mph type highway). i was gona try to hit some of the roads in the mountains on the way up but i didnt end up leaving until around 4pm, so no time for fun, though it was good weather. on the way back, it was chilly and foggy in the morning, roads were soaked from the rain the day before. crossed over into md, stopped to have some lunch and it cleared up nicely, so i decided to take out my jacket liner and switch gloves. then 20 minutes down the road it starts pooring, like having to slow down to 30mph type of rain. i pull over to put the rain covers on my saddle bags, and cover up my gps. i could see the end of the rain up ahead so i didnt bother to put on my rain gear. sure enough it cleared up, but only for about 30-40 minutes, then the rain came again. screw it, my jacket and gloves are already wet, im still going. weather was pretty crappy all the way until i got past the mountains, then get got really hot. there was no comfortable weather on the way home. but i still had a great time. i almost took the cage because of the forecast, but im glad i didnt. i was able to snap a few pics, though nothing special.

Cool trip. I like the million dollar GPS cover. You know, it's those trips that stick with you even though while you are getting baptized on the road, it's not quite as much fun. Those things make the best stories, though.

i should mention that this was my first trip on my bike, so i was really excited about it, even though there was no "fun" roads.

The R8 is nice, but your ride is just as rare! I enjoy seeing that model, and so well kept.
    Thanks!
