    Hi guys

I've been freshening a 1990 FL VFR over the last few months - what started out as a battery, fork seal and RWC/Roadworthy certainly has turned out to be a whole lot more (tyres, fork oil/bushes, fork and guard repaint, yada yada yada)

One of the 'upgrades' I've been doing is fitting newer switch gear (more modern looking with the curved hi/lo lights and stop/start rocker switches). I managed to fit a 1996 CBR600 LH Stalk switch assembly which was 'plug and play'. On the RH side, however I've purchased a UK spec VFR FR switch assembly. These include the headlight switch (off, parkers, full lights), which the Australian (1990) VFRs didn't have.

Will this simply plug in and I'll have control of the lights? Or are there fundamental wiring differences in the harness? If anyone has a UK spec wiring diagram of 3rd Gen VFR, could they please PM me. Many thanks.

Just a followup here - I bought a UK one and it does plug in without wiring mods.

However! If you turn off the lights, the alternator is still putting out around 9A @ 5000rpm - aka 108W which is largely to compensate for the headlamps load (110W). As far as I can tell the reg/rect really doesn't appreciate this and you will basically overcharge and overheat your reg/rect.

Good idea in theory but in practice it's best left as-is - at least on 3rd gens.
