Okay, I'm starting the thread for next Sunday now. I'm almost 100% that I'm going. Vic sounded pretty sure. Dan is a definite maybe. If you're going, give me ideas on route, times, distances... I am up for whatever... I should have my new front tire on by then so my bike will stick better hopefully.

Hello! I've been reading about some of your Sunday rides...I think I actually passed you guys this morning in the Pozo area...I was on a black Mille with a guy on a black GSXR. I'm wondering if your rides are VFR owners only? Sounds like you guys do some nice rides. :)

    All comers welcome!

We welcome all riders. We just like to get out and have fun. I don't remember being passed, but we were there around noon so it's very possible. There was a rider down over on 58 so we came into Pozo the back way from Parkhill.

Well, I have a few different route ideas, one is farther east trying to find a way down to Santa Barbara that is fun. The other goes through SLO and picks up 227 down towards Pismo. I can't seem to find a good road from there to get down to the 154. It looks like a stretch on 101 right now. The east route would go 58 E to 33 S which goes way down towards Ojai, then 150 back towards Santa Barbara catching 192. I haven't been any of theseroutes yet so I'm not sure of them yet. Suggestions? I hope the weather is as good as it has been so far...

Everyone chime in here on possible routes... What kind of mileage do you guys want? I think the 100-200 mile range works well for me, but I can do farther also. I have been wanting to head up Hwy 25 again. I was thinking packing a picnic lunch to eat at the Pinnacles would be pretty cool.

Also, I have wanted to go farther on Hwy 58 to the east. The Santa Barbara run would be good for this, but I dunno the mile count or road wuality doing that one. I do know that 58 gets really twisty, but there is a fair amount of gravel in the road in places. I seem to remember there was a tavern out in the hills near Santa barbara (Coldwater Tavern maybe?) that was a popular biker hangout.

The PCH is always fun, but as we all know, the weekend traffic can be a chore with all the passing we have to do. Plus stopping for the pics then passing them again really pisses them off. :)

Reg,.........here is an email i got from one of the Southern guys off the VFR lst. Maybe we could use this in planning our run.

"Meet up at the Sunset/PCH Chevron - 7am
Heading up to Ojai to meet Capt. Lee Bradford and JimBob at the Emporium for some breakfast.
Then upn the 33 to Lockwood, Cerro, down to Taft and a run down the 58 to Pozo for lunch.
From there west to Santa Margarita where Jim and Lee head north for Monterery and the rest
make it down to SLO for a short break. Then down the Edna Valley road to Arroyo Grande,
south to Santa Maria over to Foxen Cyn Road out the 154 and on down past Santa Barbara
    and on home.
10% chance of wetness on the northern extremes of the ride. Temps should be in mid 60ºs.

Takers? Nice new pavement on the 33. And through the Temblor Range of the 58. Maybe hit the 229 after lunch at the Pozo Saloon?

    JohnA"

that's funny tori. that is almost exactly the route I was looking at using google maps (only in reverse). sounds good to me. the wife said she's coming. dan (sloav8r) isn't gonna make it. he's buggin out to haul playmates around LA on a motorcycle. (must be rough) I think the turnout should still be good, though. how far do you want to go? that's a pretty long run for the feather butts. I tell ya, though, the weather today down south was hot. it was in the 90s on my ride down to AG via 227. I finally headed out to Morro Bay to cool off (mid 60s)...

Brian, is Mike going? We have been meeting around 10am but it's pretty fluid. I think Vick is going. My wife is going. We'll be riding 2-up. That's all I know for now. Millechick? are you going?

Next question: where? the more I look at south, the less I like it, unless we head in on 58 and maybe run south on what 33?

I still like the idea of 25 up to the pinnacles for a picnic, though sometime. there is also a poker run this weekend, and I believe there is a stunt show going on at SLM...

Well the chicks' flaked, but that wasn't going to keep us from ripping up Angeles Crest. Had a fun ride, despite having to deal with SoCal freeways.

And yah, my bike sort-of stood out from the crowd!
