    Mornin all,

I've been tossing around the idea of a summer bbq to get the troops together. Kinda like a meet and greet. There seem to be quite a few VFR riders that are reasonably local. What does everyone think?

I can do it at my house. I'm in Agawam, just south of Springfield MA easy on / off to Rt 91. Open to anyone from anywhere, just depends on how far you'd want to drive! Solo or bring the better half, either way. If it's early enough and I haven't gotten sick of the pool and closed it lol, it will be open so if anyone wants to take a dip feel free. We could work in a ride before for those that can. Then fire up the grill and cook up some grub.

For dates I was thinking September-ish. I know there is a big meet up in NH from (I believe) 9/10-9/12 so not trying to step on any toes or anything. ***update on the date - shooting for Saturday 8/29****

Also worth mentioning for anyone that might have allergies or be deathly afraid of dogs...I have 2, they don't have a mean bone in their body and are totally safe around everyone from 90 year olds on walkers to baby's in strollers.

    Thoughts?

Good call 02, spread the word!

We'll determine a date soon and I'll get directions out as well

This is great....thanks for offering this. Only thing that I can HIGHLY recommend is to just pick a date...even if it is a rough date, as events usually turn out better that way. You will always get so many suggestions, or "I'm on vacation," "My wife won't let me," "Sex and the City is on," Etc etc.....it can cause one hell of a migraine :frusty:

"Herding the cats" the first time is never easy, but once you pop the cherry, and others see this.....well, then some more of the shy guys start rollin' in.

hmmm - good call, you're right. I'll toss out Saturday 9/5. Week before the one up in NH for those diehards that want to hit both. It's labor day weekend, which could be good and bad I guess. People have 3 days to play with, but might have other stuff too.

What do ya say fellas, 9/5?

If you do serve lobster, maybe some Main-iacs attend.
Keep those lobsters fresh in the pools, so dont button it up yet

Maybe filling the pool with lobsters would keep my dogs from wanting to jump in! Actually, my male dog is dumb as a box of rocks, he'd go after them, even after it bites him on the nose lol. He's a big goof, all he does is play and sleep. What a life.

Pool will still definitely be open 9/5, so anyone who wants to take a swim can bring a suit and towel...and it will be lobster-free

Agawam, huh? I have a sister who used to live there but has since moved to East Longmeadow. I wish I could make it and spend some time with the niece and nephew but I need to take my own family is to the airport that day. I'll keep an eye on this thread to see if the date changes.

If I'm not working I'll be in, but that's a big if - I work about half the weekends and don't have my schedule yet.

ok fellas...sorry about this rookie move but I have to move the date to Sat 8/29

My girlfriend's, son's coach just called and college move in date for the kids on his baseball team is going to be either 9/5 or 9/6, depending on the weather. I don't want to cancel 2 or 3 days ahead of time so I think it's best to just move it now so there is plenty of time to plan.

My apologies to you guys that said they are in already, hope 8/29 is ok with you. I'll go back and edit my first post in case people don't read through the thread to see the update.

Sorry again about this guys, verbally abuse me if you must

Hey Adam, congrats on your purchase!

Thanks for asking, but nope...well, just nice weather if you can arrange that by any chance

Anyone else? I know there are at least a few more people around! Looks like we're up to 5 or 6-ish so far. The more the merrier!

    Saturday August 29

    I would like to attend.
That is Indy RedBull MotoGP weekend. Does anyone want to stick around and watch the race on Sunday. Will it be tape delayed on Sunday? Or do the networks pick up the American GP and broadcast live?
