I just recently picked up my 4th VFR on ebay.It was the pcw '93 in Illinois. Anyway, the owner put new Dunlop Sportmax 207 Qualifiers on it. I have ran those tires before & have had good luck with them. Other people at the local Honda shop say they are junk & I should switch them out for a set of Michelin Pilots. I do ride aggressive occassionally, but not every weekend. It would be a nice piece of mind to know that I have good tires under me if I go in a corner too hot & can trust my tires to bail me out. Any suggestions out there or tire experiences ?

Qualifiers are the latest sport tire from Dunlop. I have them and find that they are very good and stick well in the corners. Sportmax 207's were 2 design generations ago from Dunlop. I have had those as well and they were fairly decent too.

Which tires do you have? - Whatever ones you have - your ok.

    - 2nd thought - double check to make sure your tires arent Sportmax 204's. Those tires are junk.

I prefer black ones, but I hear Tomahawk makes some pretty cool colors if you are into that sort of thing.

Please note: Above reply is intended in jest and the management would like to disclaim any responsibility for any offense taken at anything said by member Reg71. He has been reading too many political threads and has now reverted to typing in the 3rd person.

I have Qualifiers on my bike, and was initially impressed with them, but the front tire is cupping pretty badly, and the rear tire squared off pretty good.

Tires currently have about 4,500 miles on them, BTW. I think the rear tire is so squared off that the cords will start showing any day now, definitely won't pass VT inspection.

My next set of tires will be a set of Michelin Pilot Road 2CT's. I do about 60% commuting, 40% joy riding.

I too in the market for a set of tires. I have made up a chart using survey data from another forum ( VFRD) for a comparison of differences between them.
    Take a look.

Two4one put me on the Pirelli Diablo Strada's for the road and I have been very happy with them on the VFR on the road. When going to the track I have used the Corsa IIIs. I'm not a fan of Dunlop as the times I've used them I've had a lot of cupping after hard track sessions or hard street riding with the Front. I've never used Michelin's and I've got limited exposure to Bridgestones.

I run Metzeler Sport-Tec M1s front and rear; they stick like velcro. I have about 5K miles on themand I should get another 1k out of them before i have to replace them.
