I just Bought an 02 vfr and ive heard about some recalls. I called my local dealer and he ran the vin # and said there were 2 of them. 1st one is about the alternater and the 2nd is the subframe. Then they called back and told me that the subframe recalled expired and i could buy the kit and they will put it on. Seems to me its there design flaw they should fix.. Has anyone else had this problem ?
IMO, that's the price of buying used out of warranty vehicles. Honda has and will fix serious issues no matter who's the owner on safety related claims. The subframe is IMO a very minor deal. I didn't even get mine done. There is also a very recent recall on wiring harnesses. I'm surprised the dealer didn't catch that. You should get that and the alternator done. Congrats on the new (to you) bike!
What are the specifics of the subframe recall? I'm thinking buy the parts and fit them at home during the vinter time.
I wasn't sure the severity of it but thanks for the info. The dealer still hasn't seen anything about the wiring harness??? I will stay on it though. thanks , harry
