I think it looks pretty good if you don't look too close. It was only $8.00 so I had to give it a try. It takes 4 precurved pieces to do each side. I found the best way is to spray the section you're doing with mildly soapy water. After sticking the end of the strip down, you press it down about every inch, then smooth the whole thing down with a finger. Good lighting is a must-the black rims sometimes made it difficult to see the edge. The water helps to add a glint. I think it's purdy!
Yes, it does make it stand out. On my black rims, I put white rim tape on them for a year to make sure I liked the look before powdercoating them that color. Like you said, for the price, you can't go wrong and if you don't like it, it is simple enough to remove.
