Strange fan issues

Hi,

I've had my 2008 vfr for a couple of years and absolutely love it, recently over the last couple of weeks the fan has been acting strange. I noticed that the fan turned on and stayed while the engine temp was showing around the 80'c range, it also seemed to do a thing where it would switch on at 103'c and back off at like 101'c. That's a little odd as up until then it's always been on at 105'c and then off again about 97-98'c.
So I thought it may just be the thermo switch on the left radiator, ordered a new one, after replacing the old one it doesn't seem to have made any difference and the fan is still coming on at 80-ish degrees.
Anyone else ever experienced this issue?

 

you're sure the coolant is filled to maximum [under the rad cap], no air in contact with temp switch or temp pickup ?
