Modyfied or to stock? Crazy idea?

I have my -87 pride in the garage and started the look over by takeing all faringa and plastic of and adjusted the valves. Then A strange idea came to my mind. Why not put it back to stock for next season?
Well is I just crazy? Last time I ride my VFR stock before modification I had a toasted rear shock and a 120 flat profile front tire that made the VFR ride not so good. Ok its nice to ride now, the steering is a tad slow to my likenig.
To put it back to stock I only need a new front tire, I have a neadly new rear, and I might change the fork oil also. But nothing costy. For my modifyed I like to change the front brake discs, slightly wraped (been always as I buoght used) and get a upper triple whit normal handelbar fastner insted if the billet I have that has a broken bolt on other side (1 of 4) . It would mean $$$. Telling that for the wife..... :crutch: Make the swich back to stock more sens.... Ok its only a few evenings to put it back to modifyed if I dislike it THAT much.
SO tell me your 2 cent to my dilemma. Is it totally nuts or not???
