Silly question but I thought I'd ask instead of screw around with it.

The previous owner got some 6th gen footpegs for this 5th gen, but didn't bother to install the springs correctly (they just flop around or push the peg up instead of down.)

Is there any diagram out there of how the springs orient on the pegs? These springs don't have the same bend in them that the 5th gen stock pegs do so I don't even know if it's cross compatible. I have the shop manual but can't find anything on the footrests.

Thank you for the picture; the springs I have don't curl up around the peg body like that, so I'll have to fool with it more to see if I can get it to work.

Indeed, I was not crazy/dumb and I did need the springs with the vertical bend. I think the previous owner bought one of those chinese footpeg kits that come with generic mounting hardware (that oxidizes almost instantly, of course.)
