Steering Dampers

    Hello all

    Has anyone put steering dampers on their VFR's,if so,what advantages does it have pro's and con's...is it something you need to have or can you do with out it. :confused:

    the advantage is it dampens the sterring and the possibility of tankslappers is greatly reduced,when turning the bars are so much more stable.

    Steering geometry on the VFR is not that agressive compared to RR for example. If you have head shake on your VFR you probably have a bad balance or cupped tire, or a bad case of high preload in the rear and saggy front. If you don't have an issue, don't waste your money IMO.

    thanks guys for your input on the dampers it made it much more clearer for me now....my bike is pretty much tuned up per say the suspension. so I will save my $$ for another idea thanks again...

    I have never had a tank slapper on a VFR ever so yes save the cash for something else. :lever:

    Depends on the type of riding your do, I hit up the local twisties in the sierra foothills periodically. These roads aren't "track type" smooth. There's bumps, gravel, and wildlife that my VFR rides over. Some bumps somtimes get my front tire off the road. Without the dampner, my steering would get loose and scary, put a Scotts and it solved 99% of the problems. I consider it a possible life saver. WORTH$$$$$ every penny.
