I am hoping to run my 1200 at Loring Land Speed Trials this Summer, but have hit a roadblock. Rulebook requires any bike running over 135mph to utilize a steering damper. Unless I can find a clean installing damper, There's not much use in running her at 135 with two gears left. I have spoken to Hyperpro, they know nada. Tried Demon Tweaks in the UK, same. I am hoping someone has fitted one and can share the info with me. I was looking forward to sending the ECU to Guil and really seeing what this fine machine is capable of doing at the top end. Labor Day event is best hope now anyway . . . Any help will be most appreciated!
I can find anything either so you might need to do a small amount of fabrication. http://pages.ebay.com/motors/link/?nav=item.view&id=161361778802&alt=web
A couple of places to start anyway... http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/motorcycle/steering-dampers/bike/honda/2011/vfr1200-fa11 http://www.vfrdiscussion.com/forum/index.php/topic/72257-steering-damper-on-a-vfr-1200-pros-and-cons/
Have been trying to find a steering damper for the same reason as slash2 for 8 months without any results. Response from mfgs. and major suppliers were that the VFR is not a sport bike and doesn't need one. Not enough demand to justify development cost for bracket kit for existing dampers.
