I picked up a Staintune Exhaust system from EBay over the winter, after recieving it I noticed the Y pipe was cracked by the hanger. After doing some more research it seems this is a problem with these systems. I tried contacting Staintune but they never replied. The seller refunded me some of the money and I plan on taking it to a local welder and having it repaired. My question is has anyone done this with good results? Or will it just crack again, should I be adding a gusset to it? Thanks again for any advice.

The (good) welder might be the best person for this advice.

If it cracks as a known problem, maybe it is as simple as getting a thicker bit welded in instead of fixing the crack?

I agree. I would probably be coming up with a plan and some stainless to reenforce that area. It might very well just crack next to the weld.

    Post up some pics.
