So I've been thinking it is about time for a chain and sprocket replacement. I do not know how old these parts are, on the bike, but there are some signs of wear. The bike is a 85 VF750F with about 42000KM on it.

I found a 16t front sprocket and 45t rear sprocket from JT on oldbikebarn.com. I want the extra acceleration, plus my logic is that this set up would be about 270rpm higher, which would allow better oil supply when kicking around town. I tend to choose a gear that is around 4000rpm, so I figured the extra RPM would help me not speed, while oiling the bike better.

Is this set up a little to ambitious? Should I stick to stock? Or should I stick to a 17t and get the 45t? Also, would getting an X-chain be better option than an O? I like the stated benefits of the X, but not sure if it would be the best for this bike.
