Anyone know what thread had the fix for the speedo after a conversion? There was something about changing the sprocket carrier or somethin. Don't really need the speedo but would like the trip meter so fixing one would fix both.

Don't need the speedo? why not just get a cable from the "other bike that the wheels came off of?

Don't really care how fast I'm going.

The pick-up on the 2nd gen are on the front wheel but most other bikes like the 5th gen are someplace else. I used the forks off a 5th so there is nothing similar in how it gauges the speed.

you may have to convert to a sprocket driven (gen3) mechanical system or a sprocket driven (gen4) mechanical system since the cable pickup is not on the 5G wheels/forks you installed. I have no idea what the speedo gear ratio is from the wheel, so adapting to a G3/G4 system may require a G3/4 dash, but who knows.

The part(s) you need are the sprocket pickup (blowup in lower left) and the 90degree drive part #1 as well as the cable etc
