sooo i lost my license plate =(

alright so i was going to the gym for mma training this morning, got to the gym worked out got back home beautiful day decided to clean up the bike. went outside and noticed my license plate was missing. i looked around the garage and drive way even down the road but could not find it. mind u the gym i go to is about 30min away and almost all riding is highway i was not about to go driving down highway to find it, and even if i did i wasn't going to cross highway to grab the plate. so i filed a police report after someone told me thats first thing i had to do. and they told me i have to wait 5 days for police report but at dmv it will come up as stolen plates. so i was wondering if any of u had this happen to them before and if i can just got to dmv tomorrow and get a plate for some money or do i have to wait until i have a copy of police report etc. thanks for the help in advance.

 

You can pay a fee and get a replacement plate.I don't think they care to know why.Mine was little rusty and got a shiny new one.No questions asked.
However I don't know your state's policies
