Couple questions for all you VFR experts. I have been off motorcycles for 15 years and am just getting back into them tomorrow. I have not seen this bike yet but the owner is claiming it is immaculate. It is a 2002 with 13k miles. What should I pay careful attention to when I inspect and test drive this bike?

Any and all advise is welcome.

    Thanks,

Just make sure of the standard things that you would on any bike. General mechanical up-keep and condition of the bike. Do they have maintenance records? Check, chain, sprockets, forks, fork seals, color of clutch & brake fluid. Ask them if it has had it's fluids flushed (coolant, oil, brake, clutch, fork) and if it has ever had to have the R/R (regulator/Rectifier) replaced because it went bad (this is a known archilles heel of the VFR).....and if they took it into a Honda dealer for the wiring harness recall upgrade. Look for any signs that the bike has been down. Scratches on engine, forks, frame, swingwarm, rims, etc. Just take a good luck at the bike to see if it has been maintained well or neglected. Good luck and welcome to the forum!

    Thanks!

Thanks for the advise. I'll post some feedback on what I find tomorrow.
