I just got my first ticket in 12-13 years!!! :mod: It is all because of that bastage Jamma! You just jinxed me! I joined your club foolio! When do I get my sticker???

That will teach me to make a Mcdonald's run late at night! Oh well...what can ya do? I was caught red-handed. "Mama said there'll be days like this, there'll be days like this my mama said"

The longest I've ever gone is six years, and the average is about two and one half. They are always for minor speeding, but I console myself with knowing what they COULD have been for on a different day.

At least the insurance companies are getting rich. It's all about safety, after all... couldn't be about revenue.

hell, I've had two in the last year... they actually came less than 2 months apart... one for CA stop, and one for seatbelt... before anyone starts preaching, I usually wear a seatbelt, but I still feel I should have the right to choose... I was in a pickup going about 10mph and just 2 blocks from home... the seatbelt law originally was just for cars in MO so I got used to not wearing it in a truck...

Ouch, I've noticed cops in SD have been increasing their presence on freeways lately. On my way back up from Southbay yesterady I saw 2 Motorcycle cops camping out with radar guns and one guy pulled over on the side, that was just on the 805 North. On the 15 there was black and white speckled all over like the top of scrambled eggs.

If my bike didn't run out of gears at 80+ mph I dunno what might happen.

    EDIT: Where'd you get yours?

Yeah, it blows, what can ya do? I got a ticket just as Reggie did, for "failure to yield at the limit line" of a stop sign. I know I did not do a complete stop, however, I was damn close to being at a full stop. This was at nighttime, and after I went thru the stop sign, and looked in my rear view, and I could see that it was a cop behind me and I knew I was busted. I was in my truck by the way because it was supposed to rain last night, and did. The guy in front of me (which the cop could not really see as well) just about ran the same stop sign....he barely slowed down.

Crazy thing is that I went to the 7-11 near my gf's place afterwards (this is about 3 blocks from where I got the ticket) and there is a 4-way stop sign....I would say just watching everybody for a few minutes about 80-90% of the people do not come to a complete stop.....AND, of those people, about 20-30% outright blow it. Even this morning, I was watching people in the neighborhood, and nobody stops, I swear....even cops hardly do. I actually usually always come to a full stop in those neighborhoods and most everywhere because of kids, bicycles, and so on, however, this was my day and it is all because that jamma jinxed me by getting the same ticket the other day. Oh well...on to traffic school and to pay my $$$$ fine.

How much was the fine Reg? I heard something like $300 bones I thought.

    VFR,

This was in PB on Cass Street, just past Cass Street Bar/Grill. I just saw a red 6th gen VFR in front of Bub's Dive Bar and I was wondering if it was anybody I knew just seconds before this lovely incident.

Stuka, welcome to the "DON'T COME TO A COMPLETE STOP" Club you bastage. You know the ironic thing is that on the way to work this morning, I stopped at the ATM and withdrew $150 hard cold cash to pay my ticket today, and then I come in and see your post.
By the way, I get pissed off every morning, because at the same stop sign people are just blowing through it like there is no tomorrow.

    Sorry about the ticket

    Jason
Lasr year I got my ticket in Oceanside for incomplete stop, It is cost me $215. Price depending on the city you leave in. The hungry the city (In Depth) the more you pay. This year I got a speed ticket (83 mph) on the car pool lane, ride my bike on I5 south by Laguna, I fight in court and lost cost me $375 for the ticket. The CHP was not very nice. He thread to ramp me from behind if I am not stop imediatly. He not even give me a chance to slow down to find a safe spot. Any way live go on

It seems like it was in the $200-$300 range. You also have to pay for the traffic school. I did it online in an hour or less. I think it was less than $50. As far as tickets go, you can pretty much bet the cost of them will be enough to sting without being enough that you'll try and fight them due to loss of work, etc. That's just good business, and that's most of what their income has come from now.

beep bbep ded beep da deep.... BULLETIN

I have the news on now and (you're gonna love this) there is a bill somewhere suggesting we make it illegal to text message while crossing the street....

Hey, I have a novel idea, how about if you aren't paying attention and you get hit by a car while you are text messaging, you suck it up. it's your own damn fault. i DO NOT need another friggen cell phone law.

    UGH

Last time I got pulled for a "California Roll" - the deputy's words, not mine - I got off with a warning since the dude was running radar. He lifted the radar and aimed the microwave generator at my head as I rolled up to the stop sign to shot the traffic cresting the hill behind me on the road I was stopping to cross. I told him I didn't want the radar going through me, so I failed to stop.

I'll try to order a "failure to yield at the limit line" at the local sushi bar and see what I get.

Warning: hijack in process... Attention, Californians!

This is off the subject, but more of the same; if I understood this correctly, it is being proposed that anybody will be able to use the carpool lanes if they buy a special permit... perhaps the powers-that-be intend on sharing the revenues with those of us who paid taxes to build the carpool lanes to begin with.

    OK, hijack over.

    Jason,

I'm sorry to hear that. I had that happen to me last week. I was riding back from Maryland on Saturday late and was tired and just wanted to get home. Decided to push it a bit and I got nabbed. The cop was pretty cool though and only wrote me up for a "disobeying the speed signs" ticket which is no points or insurance impact, so he said. I guess we'll see. I was doing 55 in what I thought was a 45, but it was really a 35! Not good.

    That is true

It is all over California. If you want to use the car pool lane without the passenger all you have to do is pay toll as you pass or you can purchase an electronic anual pass mount on your windshield and you can zoom by with out stopping to pay for the toll and this is on car pool lane not a toll road.
