Yeah, it sure seems like it. Normally when I have the fronts in on earlier years, the rears look so far off you wonder how it is possible. But the rears were just ready to "plop".

    Refinished stands installed.

    More of the subframe assembled.

I bought another inner / rear fender to trim down a little smaller from stock, and use a different license mount. The bike came with a Competition Werkes eliminator. I don't mind it, but somebody did sort of a hack job on the fender to install. I just couldn't bring myself to cut up the new fender I found. It is absolutely perfect and even has the correct year stickers on it. So I decided to clean up the previous work and keep this until I find another fender to mod so I can keep an unmolested example for the future.

Have you ever used a heat gun to re-finish plastic fenders or chain guards? I recently eliminated the clutch switch (on the lever) by using to spade connectors with a wire (simple) I had to replace the neutral switch on one of the VFRs and just followed it up with the clutch elimination set up.

I got rid of the side stand switch on my Kawasaki, I am not concerned with starting the bike in gear or other nanny/safety features. I used to have a togel switch on my 91 VFR hooked to the side stand switch as a theft detertarnt. Someone backed into the bike while it was parked on a hill and subsequently bent the side stand and split the front fender. When the doode paid for the replacement parts, I ened up getting rid of the togel. Nice Work, Stay Cool.

On the V4 Dreams site under the Maintenance, Tips, How-Tos section
look at # 14 , the use of the heat gun on plastic chain guard is explained, I am sure all the other plastic pieces would be the same

God dam it is nice to see a VFR on the work stand being brought back to better than new, I now know what some people mean by garage candy. Just like when you were 8 years old in the candy store, rock on Capt.

I've done it on some stuff years ago. You can also use it to get rid of the white creases when some colored bodywork has been bent too far. I have some plastic restorer (Car Guys) that is simply amazing on 99% of plastics. I forgot to treat the chain guard before I re-installed it. It's not a film or greasy, and it doesn't wash off. Transformed my ST1100 that had sat outside as a commuter by the first owner. It's my safe first choice before I plug in the heat gun.

Staintune polished and back on. I have one rear bracket for the muffler to paint after blending out the tool marks. Had to manipulate it quite a bit to get the angle just right and still clear the bodywork.

    Came out killer.

    PXL_20230813_235042732.jpg

It absolutely POPS outside. Spent all day putting it back together. Yesterday I did a 10 hr, 280 mile loop on the ST.

Not enamored with my placement of the lower VFR graphics. I wanted to break up all the angles and accentuate the last downward angle. Some views it worked really good, some views the curvature of the bodywork takes it a weird direction.

Oh well. Still very happy. It was a brutal last 5% due to me being a dumbass and a weird perfectionist. LONG STORY that took a few years off of my life.

I'll post some outside pictures when the sun is right.
