Hi All, My first post and frustrated!

Have a 97 VFR750. Recently the turn warning lights and main beam light were on permanently. Starting looking for a bad earth (without success). During my attempts using a length of cable to test earth points behind dash i seem to have "popped" something as the fuel gauge and other warning lights now don,t work.

Anyone got any ideas? Fuel pump working fine and all fuses seem ok.

    Thanks in advance.

Have you pulled the fuses and tested them they can look ok but aren't when you test

check fuse E and does your horn work. on a side note why in the hell were you indiscriminetly probing things with a non fused jumper wire.
not a good idea to do. look for two 6 pin connectors below fuse box. you do not have a ground issue, you have a hot side issue. it will be at a connector or some wires have a bare spot and are touching each other on the hot side

And if you ever start probing around at things use a test light and if you want to test ground connections use a multimeter
