Some Questions from the new guy

    I been working on cars but now i'm trying bikes i bought a 86 vf500f interceptor and want to rebuild it but i have some questions:

    1. Wantin to put in a new rear sprocket they have 43t, 42t, 44t, 45t, what is the difference which should i get??

    2. Wantin to put in a new front sprocket they have 15t, 14t, 16t, what is the difference which should i get??

    3 what is the difference in chains? i want to replace mine but they have standard, o-ring, x-ring, which should i get??

    -1 on front and / or + 2 or 3 on rear will give you less top end speed, faster acceleration.
    -1 on front = aprox +2 on rear.
    reg chain much more maint. then O or X ring chain. std chain req's lube every 200 miles or so depending on weather.
    O ring ( X ring as well ) seal in factory grease in links so less lube needed.
    Owners manual say you MUST use O ring type just so you know but I run std non-O-ring chain on mine ( RK gold chain 530 $40.00 cycle gear ) w/ no problems and O ring is not a must, but the additional maint is.

    thanks u guys i'm check all that out. i think i might go with the o-ring type and check that web site to figure out the sprockets, also looking to upgrade the exhaust not sure which exhaust to look for
