Sold the '85 VF500 tonight. Pretty well broke even at $1,100.00 I figured I had $1200 in it but that included oil and filters which I would have had to put into any vehicle I was driving.

A guy who has a 2004 VFR800 and used to have a mini-ceptor bought it for his wife. She's been riding for a year and was looking to move up. Glad to see it go to a home where it'll be appreciated and not beat the snought out of it by some college kid.

On to the next project bike, let the shopping begin.....

I saw it on craigslist the other night. What are you looking for next?

I'd really like to stick with the VFR if I can. A 2nd gen would be nice. I'm pretty open but the budget is tight. Basically I can only spend what I just got from the sale of the 500 - a non runner that needs carbs pulled off and cleaned kind of thing....

What prompted you to sell ???

Gen 2 or 4 would move u from the stone age to semi-modern technology, paleolithic to the bronze age.

Projects keep me out of the bars. Only have so much space and money for bikes so have to sell in order to get a new project. I've had my fun with gen 1 cams so I feel like I've earned a newer model.

I was impressed with the way you fixed that bike on the cheap. Hats off!

Thank you for the kind words, much appreciated! Tires and chain were by far the largest expense. I would normally let the next buyer put that investment into it because it's too hard to recover that money in a sale. That thing was just too much fun to ride and wasn't safe without them.

'How can I then return in happy plight'

+1 on your efforts repairing/restoring your previous VF500F. I enjoyed reading your posts on this.

Hope your next bike purchase keeps you equally entertained! :)
