    OK, so I don't come on here very often, but some of you may know who I am from the, ahem, "other" VFR board. I thought I would post this up here too to try and get as many bikes as possible out for this one.

    Meet @ the Park N Ride on the Northeast corner of the 76 & I-15. Kickstands up @ 10AM. Lunch in Julian @ The Miner's Diner. I'm not versed on how to imbed maps on this forum so a link will have to do.

    Hey Todd. Thanks for posting this up. Been awhile since there was an organized ride in SD county. I will not be able to make this one, but maybe another time...especially once the desert cools down again.

    One bitchy observation though....I "strongly" advise to start well before 10 am as Pala rd and the 67 become more clogged up than Madonna's Va-Jay-Jay these days. Takes a lot of fun out of it. Also, Palomar is usually empty (compared to later on) in the earlier am.....and more likely to be po-po free. Last couple of times down pala the po-po were setting up speedtraps a few miles past pala casino. I usually start from the 76 no later than 8am to 8:30am...in the winter I might push to to 9am or 9:30am when it has been damp in the mornings. I'm sure you know this, and maybe you folks are late risers.

    I'll be honest and say that I would prefer to start earlier in the day, but to try and get a little larger turn out I opted for the later start. so far I've got a pretty good response from vfrd and guys are coming from Long Beach and Victorville for this, so to appeal to the masses I make that concession... lol

    I take it you don't live in SD anymore???

    I live in San Clemente (border of SD county)....so I am still close. I will join on one of your rides one of these days.

    I understand about "herding" the cats....it is hard to do it and not get at least a few scratches....lol

    I'll be down the week before that for Long's bday party. Well, not San Diego, but close. I'll be in Oceanside. I have to get my damn rear tire changed, though. I rode it till it popped again... It made it home, but the raw part with the threads let all my air out!

    sorry I haven't checked back to this thread for a while. for whatever reason I haven't been getting my email notifications that there have been replies. Anyhow, the ride is still on for those interested. There are 8 or so people committed to go from vfrd.
