Well damn. Nov 2. Daylight saving "falls back" tonite/tomorrow morning.

Summer is fuckin' over.

I was going start moving some bikes around to do some maintenance on the paint booth and this was the first bike I grabbed. It was pretty much lined up with the lift. Then I thought... gotta start sometime.

Linkken, the RR was the engine donor for this Honda mash-up.

My least favorite day of the year. And it will really hit home when the sun goes down before 5pm. I hate winter so much.

 

I have to give myself artificial breaks in riding because the weather is always decent enough for me, i just cut off insurance and tell myself get all the little jobs done and then we can renew. Great collection of bikes.

 

Well, I after breakfast (king crab, gruyere cheese and eggs breakfast burrito), I finished getting the second 20 lbs of brined chicken thighs on the smoker. I was getting ready to move some more bikes and I realized it was 54 deg and sunny. Welp... kinda nice to take a spin on a break from winterizing bikes.



Not a very long ride, but long enough. Back home to scrape moss and rake some leaves before the sun goes down. Now back to work.

 

Sucky day, that's for sure. I hate it getting dark this early.

Hah! We smoke a bunch and vacuum seal / freeze them to use on recipes. Tonite will be home-made crust pizza with fresh smoked chicken on white sauce with jalapeño and cashews.

Me too. It's a major bummer. With my new commute I'll be getting home right before dark for a while. Hate not being able to do outside stuff after work.

 

84 VF1000F. Didn't put a lot of miles on it this Summer, I have s small oil leak around the c/s area that I've been putting off fixing. I already have all of the parts, it's just way more disassembly than you would think to get there.

 

1986 VFR700FII. Really enjoyed riding it this Summer. Crabs drained, cranked full throttle to clear carb passages (gas off, kill switch off), battery out, tires max pressure.



I've got an Ohlins sent out for rebuild. It will replace the 87 VFR shock on there now.



Had a custom 24" res hose made to get to where I want to mount it. I will do some Cartridge Emulators up front.

Oh, and I bought Collector Plates for it today... on the last day before I would have to buy another year's tabs. Really glad I checked when I was getting my wife's car renewal notice out.
