on a nice STRAIGHT 3 lane highway in southern mass off I84, no traffic just me...got in the middle lane and down shifted into 4th got her up too 132 mph, fastest ive gone on two wheels. The bike was super smooth and felt very stable. But ive heard of the speedo being less then acurate??? so was this not my actual speed?

Most of the time the 6th gen seems to be off 6%-7% on the speedo. Mine is right in the middle at about 6.5% as verified by GPS. You were probably closer to 125MPH.

Any vehicle that I own - bike, car, boat - the throttle only has 2 positions. All the way open (or down) and all the way closed!

Just so you know, there is a thread named "VFR Top speed is..." or something like that.

Bike speedo's are never accurate. Built in from the factory. Usually more noticeable at higher speeds.

I think - but could be wrong as I so often am - that a bike speedo being off has something to do with the different circumferences on the tires, and also taking into consideration that while leaning through a turn, you're once again on different contact patches, thereby producing an erroneous reading.

I'm sure some geek on here can give a better answer. I only need a tach, not a speed.

A quick glance at the original post and I thought I saw 184, which was actually I84....I almost fell out laughing at first....
