Now I love my old bike...it warms my heart every time I'm near it. It brings back my youth watching them zip around. As well the feel of having and saving one is amazing.
So In all my miles that I put on I realized that we don't have the smoothest roads anywhere that I seem to ride. The ride on the 87 is a little rough...I'm assuming some suspension advances were made over the years.
So my question is...I f you were to get another VFR for general riding and save the 87 for special occasional rides...what would it be?

Your suspension can be improved. Drain, wash, and refill the forks with proper fork oil 10 wt. to the right fluid level. Stronger springs may be better for you, adding Gold valves helps alot.

Usta be standard rule of thumb sez shock on most '80's Honda bikes is getting weak by 30K-35K.

How do you like your 97? I still think I am going to get a newer one to ride a lot and rack the miles up on. I will still put miles on the 87...
I really am torn between the 98 and 2002.

What you get with the newer bikes is greatly improved smoothness, but with a loss of character and motorcycleness like a kitchen appliance.
