A couple of months ago I picked up a set of Airtech lower fairings that we in need of some love. They were cracked here and there, had some mounting holes torn out, and had been badly painted in matt black (Possibly BBQ) Paint.

So I Did some fiberglass repair and sanded them down and then they sat for a while. Today after doing the 2nd oil-change of the season I decided to pickup where I left of, in part because the lower fairing was allready removed to do the oil change.

So I test fitted the sanded and repaired fairing to see what I was up against

Not to bad overall - not the most even gap between the OE upper and the Airtechs, but acceptable. This bike allready has it share of scars and dings, it is a good "six foot" bike - so a less than perfect fairing is fair game ::cool:

All I need to do is fabricate some new offset stand-offs for the mid mounts (were old lower fair upper mounts) - Should be pretty easy, a Metric nut TIGed to a piece of flat bar

So I decided to continue on the project and apply some bondo on the most visible low spots.

    Gave them a sanding

And then shot the First coat of Primer

As expected the primer showed up a BUNCH of flaws - which will require some more bondo and sanding, and hopefully a final primer coat.

This is it for now - I am going riding for a couple of days. When I get back and am energetic enough I will bondo, sand, and prime again ...

With a good color match to the upper any blemish in the lines will be hard to see. Good find on a rare part and nice job. Post up with final paint please.
