Does anyone know if there is a company that makes a slipper clutch for a 5th Gen VFR. I am getting ready to do some winter mods on my VFR.

precisely matching engine speeds to gear speeds is a skill that comes with practice and is one of the key skills to smooth riding, so keep practicing because an expensive and unavailable -for -VFR slipper clutch is probably not in your future.

if you want to tinker, i'm sure that '83 Goldwing could use improvement and lots of it!

Yes that is true and I know , but I am gonna do a slipper clutch on my VFR for track usage and when I get caught in the rain. Contemplating on a quickshifter also. Funny about the GoldWing - since owning a VFR the GoldWing has lost some of its luster. My plans are to finsih working on the GoldWing and selling it after the winter and looking for a 2000 - 2003 Kawi ZX9 as my second bike that I can use for trackdays and when the VFR is in the shop (or waiting for back order parts)..

A slipper clutch lets the drive line have a little more play when down shifting. It keeps the rear wheel from binding up when the engine speed and gear selection don't match up to the speed the tire is traveling.
On old fashion bikes like ours, you need to blip the throttle, (increase engine speed), and/or slip the clutch yourself.
It takes a little practice, if you are really riding hard, the learning curve is steep. If you have been riding a while, you do it without thinking.
    Hope this helps....

Why would you want one? The VFR's aren't even close to needing a slipper clutch.

Initially thought the same thing  as think the firm engine breaking a great positive of the VFR's V4 but guess if track days are the focus why not.
