I just went over 3K miles on my 06 and have noticed a slight knocking sound at idle. It seems louder when the engine is between 140-180 degrees but is still noticable no matter what temp the engine is at. I've always had I4s so I don't know if this is a normal V thing or not.

Does it knock with the clutch lever in or out? I've noticed my clutch basket rattling a little with the lever out. Not too concerned about it.BTW, mine is an 06 with @900 miles on it.

It's not the clutch/gear noise. The closest thing I have ever heard was the knock my cx500 made when the cam chain adhuster was shot and it made a knocking noise.

My 06 has a slight cough or sputter off idle sometimes, no noticable knock.

My 04 has a slight knock at idle with clutch lever out. I have a gl500, bsacially the same as a cx. How cool is that? Do you still have your cx?

CX is long gone. I miss it though, it was a fun city bike.

Unless it gets worse, I will wait till the next service and have them listen to it.
