Skyline Drive Ride Skyline Drive Ride Santa Cruz Mountains, Northern California. From Santa Cruz turn right (Northeast) onto Hwy 9, follow that for about 40 miles of prime, tight, twisties, then it will run into Hwy 35. Take that north for about 20 miles of high speed sweepers, and breath taking views of the whole Bay Area. Stop at the intersection of 35 and 84. There you will see Alice's restaurant. Don't park there, it will be all Harley types. Park across the street at Skyway Trading post. Time your trip so you get here on a Sunday morning. Here you will find anywhere from 100-300 sportbikes parked. There is always at least 12-20 VFR's there, some people from this list, I'm sure. You will see rare Ducatis, NC30's, Aprilla Milles, R7's, no less than 20 R1's, an occasional RC45, Bimotos, and all kinds of classics, and collectable. Have a cup of coffee at Skywood trading post (The coffee is real good), while you talk to the nice people and admire their bikes. Then from this intersection you can go any direction, (north, south, east, or west) for 20 miles of twisties, then turn around and do it all again, including another cup of great coffee. My favorite is to go west on 84 toward the ocean. This is a race track quality road.
