My old KZ440LTD shit the bed at the end of last summer (I think it ate a piston ring) and wasn't worth sinking more money into. So I hit the trusty old craigslist and found this '06 VFR800 with 30,000 miles on it. Here it is on the day I brought it home:

The guy I bought it from told me that it had some electrical goodies installed by a PO: Power Commander, Battery tender leads, 12V accessory leads, a heated seat pad that may/not work. Needless to say I'm going to have to go through the underseat wiring mess and do some discovery and tidying up. It's like this guy had never head of a zip tie:

I took it to a dealer for inspection and recall check, and I was informed that I am now at least the 4th owner of this machine. It passed all inspection items except the license plate light. The tech/parts manager told me it wasn't stock, so I went on a bulb hunt and the stock bulb number does fit the socket and the wiring harness looks pretty damn stock as well. Can anyone confirm if this is the stock bulb housing? It is marked 'STANLEY JAPAN'.

I'll be lurking around here for general knowledge and probably trying to buy a set of luggage so I can take advantage of the touring side of this beast.
