    Hello people.

I've just bought a 1988 model VFR 750F after being away from bikes for the last 10 years. It's great to be back on the scene, I'm sure there is enough here on the Forum to keep me occupied on reading up about the bike.

I only bought it last Friday sounded lovely and sweet, though today I started her up as it's been very cold here, ran her for 3 or 4 minutes and there is this terrible noise coming from the engine, sounds like a bolt moving around in the head not sure really.

Anyway I'll ask a question in the correct section seeing as this is the intro section

    Thanks for having me here.

EEK! Sounds scary...I cannot help you too much on the diagnosis but I can welcome you to the Forum and back to motorcycling!
Be careful while you get your MC legs back under you. But, they say it is like riding a bicycle...you never forget!
    Good Luck!

Welcome, come in take your shoes off and make yourself at home !

As for the bike, was it private sale or dealer ? was the bike ok when you picked it up ? was it already warmed when you picked it up ? was the noise getting any worse as it warmed up ?

Thank you people for the warm welcome

Well I'm hoping it's nothing serious, I've still got to investigate further, as I've taken the starter motor off and taken apart and all looks fine, no teeth missing off the starter, having read further around the forum it could be just that the battery is a little weak and not enough to kick the starter up

The other problem I've yet to find

Thanks again for the welcome
