I recently acquired this Signaltone ST139T horn in brand new condition.

I am wondering if I could replace my stock horn with this one? Any electrical experts who can help me out?

On the stock horn(2004 VFR800) I can see two wires/sockets, while this one has only one. I have heard it sound like a truck horn. So want to try it out to see if I would like it.

Have a look on the pict and looking forward to some input and guidance.

    Thank you.

Depending on the amperage draw from the horn, you could just pop swap this out for the stock horn, however, if the draw is more than a stock horn you may want to use a 12v relay. I recently installed a Denali Sound Bomb mini on my 6 Gen and I used a relay for it. I also put the horn behind the left side panel using a piece of flat aluminum bar. I can't seem to find the wiring diagram for the relay but if I can't find it, I'll draw one up.

Although this isn't the final mount I used, this pics shows where I mounted it to the sub-frame. You can find this flat bar at Home Depot or other Hardware store I'm sure.

    As always, thanks OOTV.

How can I find out amperage of this horn vs stock one?

What kind of relay did you use( I mean, where did you get it?).

Not really sure how to tell what the horn draws unless it's somewhere on the horn itself. If ever in doubt, use a relay, it's safer. You can sometimes get away with increasing the fuse size, but the wiring is where you could be limited. For my application I used 18GA wire for the leads from the battery and to the horn. As far as the relay, these are typically found in most auto parts stores and are often called "Bosch Style" relays. They are usually 4 pin but sometimes they have a fifth pin, which in your case you wouldn't use. I had found the 5 pin version and just covered the fifth pin with silicon.
