Shock preload adjustments and height...

    OK, this might qualified as the stupid question of the year. That goes to show how mechanically inclined I am.

    1) Does preloading the shocks to the max lower the height of the bike ?

    1a) Would maxing out the preload be harmful under any condition (hit a big pot hole etc)

    2) Right now I have the rear shock adjuster at min and the front forks at the second marker line. At this levels I find the bike to be extremely bouncy off the back when I hit a bump. Not sure if this is typical of every sport bike or if I can do something to the adjustments. Could lowering the damping screw adjustment help ?

    look up how to properly set the sag for your weight. after the sag is set the rebound should be somewhere in the 1/2 to 1 and a 1/2 out from full hard setting. do not over tighten as you will damage the rebound circuit. make sure the tires are at 36 front 42 rear psi.

    the rebound is a preference for whatever feels good to you. mess around with it, but DO NOT APPLY ANY TORQUE TO IT!!!
    it with destroy your shock if over tightened.

    By "Not applying torque" to the rebound screw, do you mean to turn the rebound damping adjuster screw until it stops either clockwise or counterclockwise ?
