Got all the seals and parts to rebuild my shocks, but I can’t find any info on what weight/grade of shock oil to use in the maintenance manual. does anyone have any guidance?

    thank you!

I assume you are referring to the front forks? The service manual refers to using ATF (automatic transmission fluid) with 332mL right and 335mL left.

Yeah I saw the volumes, but no mention of the oil weight. If it’s just ATF, I won’t need to order anything.

edited to add: [smacks forehead] that’s what “ATF” meant in the manual!

Go by oil height, not volume.

That’s right. Thanks for reminding me. I should watch a few more videos before I do this.

And a bit like tire sizes...oil weight doesn't' really ring true. 10W isn't always 10W like another brand. And when it is cold/warm...still more variation. And if you look at Ohlins...have fun with their number scheme!
