New guy here, finally picked up a VFR, well an 84' VF700. It is completely stock, and runs like a champ. I am curious about seat mods though, are there any for this generation? I've been looking around but most seats seem to fit the later gens. The main reason in looking for a new seat is for my wife, she was spoiled on my Vulcan with the backrest and so I'm looking at trying to replicate a similar comfort for her. I've thought of just attaching a backrest pad to the rear handles by fabbing up some clamps and a bracket...has anyone done this? Thanks all!

Your best bet is to have a company recover the stock seat. I had Sargent recover the seat for my 89 Hawk. Their service was awesome. It took 3.5 weeks, including the shipping times & I am more than happy with the product. Unless you are up close & see the little Sargent tab, you can't tell it is an aftermarket seat. The difference in comfort compared to the stock seat is night & day.

I have no clue where to source a backrest for an older machine.

    KC-10 FE out...
