    OK, I did a search-didn't find a thing.
How do you replace the seat lock on a 4th GEN? I cut down some extra pass pegs and want to put the original lock (or lock internals) in the 'new' peg bracket.
    Thanks for the help.

    Hi,
I have a sticky lock than is a pain to re-lock sometimes. They are secured with "snap bolts", the same sort of do up and snap the head off that you get on car steering locks.
The low tech approach I took was undo them by gripping the head with a pair of side cutters so the points dig in.
Same approach can used for most stuck or flogged out screw heads. If you're lucky they'll turn, if not it's time to drill.
I re-fitted mine with flattish hex heads.

Yes, on the back of the lock you need to remove the smoothed out bolts. Another trick is to file or saw/grind a slot in them and use a screw driver to unscrew.

    Ok guys, THANKS!
Lookin' at it that's what I thought I'd have to do, just wanted to make sure before I started grinding. (A slot, that is)
