Anyone else have a problem with latching the seat?

I have both the stock and a Corbin seat, both of which are difficult to latch.

I put shims under the Corbin's plate, causing the male fitting to extend further towards the female latch (trying to be descriptive here) and it's easier to latch but more difficult to remove.

It's as if the latch has moved downward and further away from the seat over time.

Is this a known problem with a recommended fix?

    Thanks!

I have personal experience with the Corbin seat, they are a pain to put on and it came off as I ride so I return and got me a Sargent install and remove without any problem
My stock fit fine as well no issue. Hvae you try to lube the latch under the frame?

I had same problem with my Sargent seat. I found the problem was the plastic cowl over the passenger section which is directly above catch. If you have your cowl on, then you can not press down hard enough on the seat directly above catch. A piece of hard foam wedged inbetween cowl and seat fixed problem. I lubed catch, cable and lock, did not fix. Damn near snapped of my key in lock 20 miles from home!

    Fixed it!

Two washers between the bracket and seat shimmed it perfectly. About an eighth of an inch.

The catch on the Sargent seat molded into bottom of seat, couldn't shim, that's why I had to insert foam.
