seat cowl mounting

I do not have a seat cowl for my bike but was wondering if I am missing something , the 'rear' 2 mounting 'slots' are open is there supposed to be 'inserts' in them or are they just open to the elements

 

I believe that if you don't have the cowl on, the slots are just open. That's the way it is on my bike anyway.

 

ok, thanks for that, it looks a bit strange to me a bit 'unfinished'

 

Should have some plugs. Check partnumber 2, in this case for a 5th Gen.

 

Yep...part number 2...keeps the plastics from cracking around the bolt.
