Has anyone modified the rear seat cowl of a '98 or similar VFR to accomodate both the hand rails and the cowl? I'm thinking about cutting two notches in the cowl so it can be installed while the rails are in place, however it would me cutting away two of the mounting tabs. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have a 1999 VFR, with a Kappa box fitted. I have cut the cowl to accomodate the rails for the supports. Cutting was no problem, using a small hacksaw blade and then a rotary file in an electric drill. I put thick tape on to stop paintwork damage. The cutout is smaller than if the grab handles were fitted, and the lugs were still in position. When I was in the uk I saw a vfr with cutouts for the handles and it seemed to be fine. Hope this is some help
