I picked up a can of the stuff today because I haven't found any bad remarks on the product, so I thought it'd be worth a try on my '85 VF500. Since it only has 14k miles on the OD and is 23 years old, I'm fairly sure there's room for improvement in regards to deposits, gum, etc to get it running as close to new as possible without tearing things apart. Assuming I don't break the bike, it's money worth the shot even if the result is just a placebo effect (I'm still skeptical  ).

My question is how to properly use it on my bike to give the fuel system, valves, cylinders, etc. a good cleaning? About the only tutorials/videos I can find online are using the a brake booster line in a car.

http://youtube.com/watch?v=KfQyTxQVHrk Basically, I want to use it like the guy in that video.

    Any help would be appreciated!

just pour it in with a fresh tank of gas then give your bike a good Italian tune-up. I think 1/2 a can is more than enough but I have heard some people say they'll put a whole can in a bike's tank.

You're right, I should probably just mess with it as little as possible and stick with the safest means possible, since it is a functioning bike after all.

Would you recommend adding a 1/2 can at full tank and ride it until it's empty or add around an approximate half full mark?
